A collection of mixed media works on handmade paper, exploring day and night scenes inspired by dreams, mythologies and the artist’s imagination.
Reimagined parks, backyards, and gardens take center stage, wild grasses and flowers are shaped from abstracted marks, and night scenes reveal fragments of a shadow world. This collection is a journey of tending to one’s inner landscape from darkness to light.

Ethereal mixed media landscape-based paintings featuring trees, lakes, mountains, and occasional dwellings. This series takes a deep dive into the observed and psychological environments that shape us. Reflective of the artist’s unique experiences, these surreal vignettes blur the lines between dream and reality.
Sofya’s signature process is prevalent in these works: collaged or observed images are carefully merged with intuitive marks, gestures, and patterns creating recollections of places both familiar and imagined.
Originals from this series are available via select galleries and through the available works page. Contact the artist for more information or to commission a landscape-based painting from your own source photographs.
This long-running series features detailed mixed media collage works on paper. Each piece begins with a tea, coffee, or ink stain and is imbued with meaning and storytelling through multiple collaged, drawn, and painted layers.
Themes related to mythology, mysticism, childhood, work, cultural influences, and feminism are present in these works. Each stain and story is intuitive and intentional, and definitely unique.
